Taylor Swift has a new MTV Video Music Award to her credit.  And this time she had the chance to express her appreciation for the honor without being interrupted.  The country-pop crossover sensation got the nod for Best Female Video at Sunday's event with her hit "I Knew You Were Trouble."

She previously captured the category in 2009, becoming the first country singer to earn an MTV award, but her win drew headlines for another reason.  Swift's acceptance was infamously interrupted by Kanye West, who stepped on stage, took the microphone from Taylor, and stated his opinion that Beyonce should have won the award.

West is also at this year's event, but this time kept quiet during Swift's speech.  This year Taylor was up against videos from Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Pink featuring Nate Ruess, and Rihanna featuring Mikky Ekko.  The 2013 MTV VMAs are being presented at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, and are airing live on MTV.
